Spiritual
Prosperity:
The
Haves, The In-Betweens and The Have Nots
June Michael
By popular demand, I am reprinting an article
that appeared in the October 1998 Inner Insights newsletter called,
“Spiritual Prosperity: The Haves, The In-betweens and The Have Nots.
In Rich Dad, Poor Dad,
Robert Kiyosaki tells us that, “The main cause of poverty or financial
struggle is fear and ignorance, not the economy or the government or the
rich.
It’s self-inflicted fear and ignorance that
keeps people trapped.” This
article is a reminder on how to free yourself from financial bondage and
how to tap into the universe for abundant living.
Do you blame the economy for your lack of
financial prosperity? Do you fantasize about winning the lottery? Do you
believe that there is not enough money to go around? Do you believe that
some people have all the luck when it comes to finances?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you are
probably experiencing financial difficulties because of the way you
think about prosperity. Your belief system determines your financial
conditions in life.
Sometime in your life you made a choice to be in
one of three financial clubs even though you may not be aware of it:
The Haves, The Have
Nots
and The In-Betweens. You probably selected the club that your
parents belonged to because you have been conditioned to think about
prosperity according to your family belief system. Let’s look at the characteristics that describe the three
clubs:
The Haves
desire abundance; think abundance; focus on abundance; visualize
abundance; see the glass half-full; take responsibility for life
conditions; and most importantly take action.
The In-Betweens plant
seeds of abundance and lack; think abundance but have doubts and worries
about the outcome; focus on how to make things happen but only take
action once in awhile; visualize a mixed bag; verbalize doubt; take
responsibility for some of life’s conditions; and stop just before the
goal line.
Finally,
the Have Nots plant seeds of lack; think lack; focus on lack;
visualize lack, verbalize lack; see the glass half-empty; blame the
world for life conditions and wait for life to happen.
Ok, which club do you belong to?
If you don’t like where you are, now is the time to look at
your beliefs about money, wealth and poverty.
Let go of limiting thoughts that hinder your potential for
creating what you desire. Think
of the mind as a computer that you feed information into.
It only prints out what you put in.
Learn how to train your mind to use the Law of
Creativity. First, you must
have the desire or know what it is that you want. Through the use of
free will, cultivate positive thoughts about abundance in your mind at
all times. According to the Law of Creativity—what you think is what
is manifested in your life
In Basic
Principles of the Science of Mind, Dr. Frederick Bailes tells
us that: “Man’s subconscious mind automatically obeys that which is
passed on to it by his surfaced mind.
It acts always in complete obedience to the decrees of his
surface mind. It works
ceaselessly turning the material of our thought into the experiences of
our lives.”
Know that you are responsible for every condition
in your life and you can change anything at anytime.
Twelve Points to
Abundance
Set financial goals and have an action plan to carry them out.
Be committed to your financial plan and exercise discipline to stick
to it.
Don’t buy into the negative picture of the
world economy as painted by the media and forecasters. Center on God as
your Source.
The way to prosperity is not outside you but
within. You can contact the Source by turning within to your Higher self
You should never concentrate on money but on your
blessings. Money is just a form of energy. Money has no power. It is the
meaning or beliefs that we have attached to money that make it seem
omnipotent or elusive
The universe is limitless and therefore there is enough to
go around for everyone. We don’t have to steal others good or compete
for it. No one can take your good from you because you can always
create what you desire.
Ask for what you want and believe that you will
get it. Don’t ask for apples when you want oranges. Mixed messages
will be confusing and delay your results, be definite, be realistic, and
be receptive.
Trust the universe. Recognize that the Supreme Being created a universe, so it will not be
difficult to fulfill your desires. Share your love and time with others
and the Law of Reciprocity will kick in.
Take responsibility for your debts; you created
them. Debts are forms of energy that teach you how to give and receive.
Conversations where you innocently make despairing remarks about
your financial condition can inhibit your flow of good. “I’m
broke,” “ I can’t afford it,” “ I’ll never be
rich,” and “I’m
poor,” reinforce negative thoughts in your consciousness. The Law of
Prosperity cannot give you abundance when you have thoughts of doubts
regarding your desires.
A prosperity consciousness develops when you
change your consciousness to believe that what you desire can manifest.
After all, you are a child of God and heir to a Kingdom.
